Patient onboarding
Account creation, verification, secure sign-in and a patient profile designed for repeat use.
A pharmacy website, mobile patient application, staff dashboard and custom PHP API for medication requests, pharmacy services, messaging and status updates.

Project overview
Medication and pharmacy-service requests need a simpler digital journey without implying that software is providing clinical advice or automatically approving care. Patients need clear status information, while authorised staff need protected queues and reliable records for review.
The platform also handles sensitive account and request data, so authentication, session storage, uploads, permissions and production-readiness controls must be treated as core product requirements.
We built an Expo/React Native patient application with onboarding, account verification, profile management, medication-request cycles, service discovery, booking requests, secure messaging, notifications and deep-linked updates. Remembered native sessions use secure device storage, while browser sessions avoid persistent refresh-token storage.
A React administration interface supports role-protected pharmacy workflows, medication catalogues, patient records, request queues and notification activity. The framework-free PHP REST API owns authentication, validation, file handling and workflow rules. Patient-facing copy clearly distinguishes a request from prescribing or clinical advice and routes urgent-care expectations to appropriate services.
The brief
Pharmacy website · Patient mobile app · Staff admin · Custom API
Make routine medication requests easier to submit from a mobile device.
Give staff an organised queue instead of fragmented calls and messages.
Keep patients informed through statuses, notifications and secure communication.
Product ecosystem
Account creation, verification, secure sign-in and a patient profile designed for repeat use.
A guided request journey with repeat cycles, status visibility and a staff-side review queue.
Service discovery and booking entry points connected to the pharmacy’s wider digital presence.
In-app messaging and notifications so important updates remain connected to the request.
Key journey
Patient signs in and submits a medication request
The request enters the pharmacy staff queue
Staff review and update its status
The patient receives the update and can message the pharmacy
Technical architecture
Pharmacy website for services, trust information and discovery
Expo and React Native mobile application
React administration interface for requests and communication
Framework-free object-oriented PHP API backed by MySQL
Engineering decisions
Verification, access-token refresh and secure native storage support a safer returning-patient experience.
Each request moves through visible states, reducing ambiguity for both the patient and the pharmacy team.
The patient experience and staff workspace share one API while exposing only role-appropriate actions.

The result
The result is a connected patient and staff workflow: customers can submit and track requests, while pharmacy staff can review and manage them through a dedicated administrative system. The codebase also records explicit production gates for HTTPS, malware scanning, delivery providers, least-privilege credentials and compliance review.
